I got this car for $100 in 1985. Here it is completed in 1986. It had seventies indoor gold/green/black loop carpet. The floors and trunk were perfect. The rear quarters, door bottoms, fender bottoms, dash and trunk lid were filled with holes. I welded on steel patches over these areas. I painted it the original Regal Red. One interesting thing I found was that in 1976 my father had painted it black for the person I got it from, who had had also purchased it for $100.
Here you can see it with the nose off. You can see the original Regal Red on the side of the firewall.
I sold it in 1993 to pay the closing costs on my home construction loan. It was never garage kept after I sold it. Because the top did not seal very well and because there was so many moldings on the car, all of my work was coming undone. The car changed hands again. The person who has it now has completely dismantled the car and replaced all of the rusted and previously repaired areas with new panels. It is currently sitting in shell form on his garage floor. I hope to get a few pictures of it to place on this page.
